Legacy .NET system rescue.
Fixed-fee health checks and monthly support.
Scarborough-based developer. ASP.NET WebForms, VB.NET, SQL Server. I keep systems alive when the original developer is gone.
The situation
Sound familiar?
Your system runs your business. Your developer left five years ago. Your IT company won't touch code. Rebuilding would cost £80k+. You need someone who understands what you have.
Most of these systems are ASP.NET WebForms or classic VB.NET applications sitting on a SQL Server database — quietly running quoting, stock, dispatch, or invoicing for a business that can't operate without them. They don't need replacing. They need someone who knows how they work.
The service
That's exactly what I do.
ASP.NET rescue and monthly maintenance. Fixed-price health checks. Retainers from £295/month.
- System health check — fixed fee A structured review of your application, database, backups, and hosting. You get a plain-English report: what's fragile, what's fine, and what to fix first. No obligation to go further.
- Monthly support — from £295/month I become the developer on the end of the phone. Bug fixes, small changes, monitoring, and a documented understanding of your system so you're never stranded again.
- Rescue work Something's broken and nobody can fix it. I'll diagnose it, stabilise it, and tell you honestly what state it's in.
How it works
Three steps, no surprises.
- A 20-minute call. You describe the system and what worries you. I'll tell you straight away whether I can help.
- A fixed-fee health check. Agreed price up front. You get the written report whether or not we work together afterwards.
- Ongoing support if you want it. Monthly retainer, cancel any time. Most clients start after the health check has shown them what's at stake.
Why trust me with it
I work in this stack every day.
This website itself runs on ASP.NET WebForms with VB.NET code-behind and a SQL Server back end — the same technology I look after for clients. Not because it's fashionable, but because systems built on it still run thousands of British businesses, and they deserve proper care.
